Highways and access
A Transport Statement is being prepared in support of the outline application. This will assess traffic impact, accessibility, highway safety and parking provision in line with national and Essex transport policy
Walking and cycling connections
New pedestrian routes are proposed through the site, linking to existing walking routes and improving connections to the Village Hall and play area for both new and existing residents.
Nearby bus stops on School Road and Marks Tey railway station (approx. 2km away) provide access to Colchester, London and further afield, supporting sustainable travel choices.
Primary access from School Road
The development will be accessed from School Road via a simple, priority-controlled T-junction. The junction will be designed in accordance with Manual for Streets, including appropriate visibility standards. Swept path analysis will confirm safe access for refuse and emergency vehicles.
New car parking spaces
As part of the development, we will provide new car parking spaces for the village hall, taking the pressure off the currently limited spaces and easing congestion during peak times. All residential car and cycling parking will be provided in line with Essex Parking Standards.
