About the site

The site is located in the south east of Copford village, east of School Road, and adjacent to the Village Hall. The location just off School Road also gives the new homes great access to Marks Tey, Colchester, key services, shops and Copford Primary School.

Why Now?

The land has been identified by Colchester City Council as suitable for residential development in its emerging Local Plan. We believe that additional homes would help support local services and that there is a genuine need for more affordable housing in the area.

National government policy requires councils to plan for housing need and to maintain a five year supply of sites that can realistically deliver homes. Colchester City Council is expected to fall short of this requirement, meaning there is added urgency to bring forward sustainable housing sites such as the land off School Road.
